Low TL planets - examples

Someone forwarded me a series of pictures that were supposed to be funny,
but my first thought was: "Hey, these are good examples of how life on a
low TL planet might work - with bits of medium to high tech around, just
made to fit into their lifestyle."

Found them on the web here:

(It's definitely not the only way to view life on low TL planets, but it
seemed to illustrate what some people have indicated - that a low TL
planet won't be *without* mid/high TL goods, they'll just be more rare and
used in slightly different ways.)

Hey! I resemble those pictures...at least the time I found the
perfectly good 21" Weber grill being thrown out and bungee-corded the
entire mess to the back rack of my bike and rode it home. Slowly,
with a lot of clattering.

(This after I firest tried just bungee-cording the handle to the rack
and towing it like a trailer. That worked for a few blocks, until a
wheel fell off)

(It was one like this <http://www.mulliner.org/collin/
quick_antenna.php> which shows yet another high tech-low tech hybrid.)

It had my wife in stitches visualizing it...

[scene: some TL7 backwater world...]

Father: Dear, what is little Eneri doing out in the shed? He's been
banging away for hours.

Mother: Oh, just building that do-it-yourself low-tech anti-grav
air/raft - you know, the one he sent away to Regina for the plans?

Father: Oh, right. I'm not sure I'd trust those plans. Well, it's
not like it's ever really going to fl...

<WHOOOSH> [air/raft speeds through living room... hilarity ensues]
